It’s the most wonderful time of the year.
Bowl season is here, and BetMGM bonus code ACTION unlocks a $1,000 first bet on the house for any game — college football, NFL or otherwise.
So if your first bet loses, you’ll get refunded whatever you lost, but in free bets, up to $1,000.
Confused? We’ll explain more below.

Here’s how to open your account.
Check out our travel FAQ/guide if you don’t live in a BetMGM state but are traveling to or through one this weekend.
Looking for a BetMGM casino bonus code, which is only available in a handful of states? Use ACTIONCASINO for $1,025 in value at checkout or click here for more details about how the promo works.
Confused about how the sign-up offer works? We’ll explain more below using examples from the first weekend of bowl season.
We also did a sportsbook promo guide that explains each type of offer if you’re curious how this all works.
Alright, time to make that first bet. You want to put your entire deposit on your first wager. It’s the optimal way to do it. You also want to put your free bets and risk-free bets on longshots, usually in the +300 to +500 range. But we’ll use Friday’s bowl game as an example.
Say you put your $200 deposit all on Troy moneyline at +130 against UTSA.
OK, so what are free bets? We’ll cover that next.
If you lose your first bet, you’ll get free bets and you’ll need to use them pretty quickly.
Here’s how free bets work. It’s like BetMGM is spotting you the bet, and you keep the winnings if it wins.
If you lose that first Troy bet, you’ll get $200 back in free bets. You then put it all on Florida moneyline against Oregon State on Saturday.
That’s why these offers aren’t truly risk-free — you can lose your whole deposit depending on how your bets go.
This offer is what we call a $200 bet/get offer. It’s only available in Maryland, Illinois, Louisiana and Kansas.
Free bets, if you didn’t read the section above, are almost like bets on the house. You keep the winnings, but you don’t keep the free bet itself.
BetMGM will return your $200 in four, $50 free bets. They can be used on any event or sport, with a few small restrictions.
The free bets work the same way we described above — you keep the winnings, but not the initial bet.
So using that same Florida example, you’d get $600 if they win, but you don’t keep the original $200.
