Whether you’re a kid on break from school or an adult who merely misses the simpler days of gaming, we’ve rounded up our 10 favorite online games for kids. The beauty of these games is that you can play them right in your browser and there’s no need to download anything!
Simply click on the link under each item on our list, and you’ll have the best games for kids to play online at your fingertips. Even adults can enjoy them.
Block Racer brings to mind the old 8-bit racing games we used to play on analog mobile devices back in the day. This game has a similar concept to the triple-A racing games of today, but with one key difference. This is far more simplistic and trimmed down. Expect a relatively easy course to navigate and the classic static vehicle animation as you make your way across the island. You won’t be able to do any stunts in this game, but it’s tons of fun in any case.
Dino Run will likely be familiar to most of you. Have you ever played that cute dinosaur game on Google Chrome? Yeah, this is that game! All you need to do is hit the spacebar to make your dino buddy jump. You’ll need to jump to avoid the cacti in order to stay alive. If you hit a cactus and die, you’ll simply start the game again. See how big you can make your high score.
If you like Peppa Pig, you’ll likely enjoy Cute Pigs Paint Box. This is the quintessential painting game for fans of Peppa Pig. This game is especially popular amongst younger audiences due to the fun little surprises that come along with access to traditional drawing tools and the ability to express their colorful imaginations.
Space Alien Invaders brings to mind a similarly named arcade game we used to play when we were young. Now, younger generations can enjoy the 8-bit mayhem that we experienced in our own childhood days. This game is perfect for any youngsters looking to improve their coordination in a fun way.
If you had a mobile phone in 2015, you were likely playing Hill Climb Racing. This is the second iteration of the game and it’s even more fun than the first was. You’ll have an even larger selection of vehicles to choose from as you make your way across even more exciting maps. This is a great game if you want to teach your little one that sometimes slow and steady is the best way to manage life’s obstacles.
Do you like Minecraft’s aesthetic? Do you like jumping from block to block in an obstacle course? Then you’ll love Parkour Block 2. Leap across lava as you make your way to the portal at the end of the course. This one of the best ways to train yourself in the most basic parkour moves before you move onto Minecraft’s hardcore parkour maps.
Here’s a take on another classic arcade game that you likely played when you were younger that your little one can now enjoy too. Classic Poci takes inspiration from Pac-Man in that you play as a yellow orb with a big mouth that chases after little ghosties. This might not be the real Pac-Man game, but it’s close enough that your youngster can experience how much fun the real game was.
Geo Dash 2 is one of the simplest games around. All you need to do is assume the form a geometric shape and make your way across various levels. Each level has an increased difficulty over the last, and this means the game isn’t likely to get boring. This is perfect for learning the core mechanics of most platformers.
Fireboy and Watergirl come to you with an interesting new mechanic. You can play either as fire boy or water girl in this game, switching between them as needed. Water girl cannot touch fire and fire boy cannot touch water. You play this as a single player or with a friend. This is a fun game for all ages.
Purple Dino Run is exactly the same concept as Dino Run, but the world is in color! If you like Dino Run but wish that the game was a little less gray and a little more visually appealing, this is the perfect game for you. Jump over cacti and duck under pterodactyls in this surprisingly exhilarating 8-bit browser game.
That concludes our list of the top 10 browser games for kids. The best thing about many of these games is that they still teach valuable skills like coordination and planning – but in such a way that children don’t even realize they’re learning! Go ahead and try these games for yourself and let us know which you like best. If you feel we’ve left one or two out, let us know, and we’ll try and include them in our next list.
